Malaysia Gala Dinner

Kota Kinabalu, November 29, 2013

Bailliage of Sabah

The Bailliage held its end of year Gala Dinner at the chic and cultured Hotel Le Méridien situated at the heart of the leisure haven that is Kota Kinabalu.

The ambience of the banqueting room was one of sheer elegance in readiness for a night filled with fun and camaraderie which commenced with a Champagne reception. Earlier, Bailliage Council members were privileged to attend a tasting of the 2002 vintage Dom Pérignon Rosé Champagne as well as the 2002 Moët et Chandon Vintage.

Once seated, members and guests were entertained by Vice Conseiller Gastronomique, Datuk Gordon Leong, who introduced what was to come.

Chef Shan and his brigade were in their element. Theory was put into practice. Result: a fine menu specially composed to delight. Our Professionnel du Vin member with skill and expertise sourced the perfect wine to partner each course.

During the interlude before the main course was served, Council members presented cheques to the two charities for which we had raised funds by an auction at our September event.

At the conclusion of the evening, Chef Shan and his brigade were presented to the diners. They received well-deserved congratulations for a job, truly well done.
