Tanzania Cocktail Reception

Dar es Salaam, December 15, 2013

The newly-established Bailliage of the Chaîne in Tanzania held its second event – a delectable end-of-year ‘canapé, Champagne and wine’ cocktail reception – in the Karambezi Café Restaurant of the five-star Sea Cliff Hotel.

Amazing view

The hotel is beautifully located right on a cliff which affords a panoramic view of the magical Indian Ocean. The light as the sun went down was enchanting, then it was gone and the sky was filled by the moon and twinkling stars.

Sensational food

With its unrivalled setting it is no wonder that the Karambezi Café continues to be one of the most popular dining destinations in Dar. The talented kitchen team take great pride in their food, using fresh, local ingredients.

Passionate chef Brendan draws on his international experience to bring a new level of sophistication and flair to his creations. Accordingly we were to enjoy a sensational canapé selection to partner the Champagne (supplied by MMI Tanzania, the country’s acknowledged premier wine merchant and spirits specialist) and wide selection of wines.

Welcome

Bailli Délégué (Elect) Hans Heuer welcomed us all, introduced the National Council members then presented the food and wine sponsors with Certificates of Appreciation.

Citizens of the world – citizens of Tanzania
The members and guests were a very interesting mix of Tanzanian nationals as well as those from other countries who have chosen Tanzania as their home for a shorter or longer period. The Bailliage counts itself fortunate that it has people representing all shades of Tanzanian professional life, for example, from corporations to embassies, from oil and gas to publishing, from hospitality to management training. All of which bodes well for the future development of the Confrérie.

It was a most convivial evening under the stars … a truly wonderful way of ending the year together.
