Guadeloupe Chapitre

Le Gosier, November 22-23, 2013

Culture and tradition … result … delighted palates!

On Friday, November 22nd, the Bailliage welcomed eight food professionals and connoisseurs as new members during an Induction Ceremony at the Guadeloupe Archipelago College of Hotel Management and Tourism in Le Gosier.

The Gala Dinner, the theme for which was “culture and tradition”, took place on the Saturday in the restaurant of the Pierre et Vacances hotel in Sainte Anne. The elegantly-presented local produce delighted our palates.

Our Échanson enriched our knowledge by providing descriptions of the wines, champagnes and other beverages that accompanied the hors d’oeuvres and the menu. These included Montebello rum which had been served in a variety of cocktails, l’Hoste Brut Tradition Champagne, Champagnes from the Montaudon range, and Chilean wines from the Viña Maipú winery, with a particular mention for a special limited edition 2007 Syrah.

These two events, conducted according to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs’ special protocol in the presence of Giovanni Arduini, Vice-Chargé de Missions for the Bailliage of Parma (Italy), were enjoyed greatly by all the guests present.

In response to this homage paid to us by Giovanni Arduini, a delegation from the Bailliage of Guadeloupe will be attending the Grand Chapitre of the Bailliage of Italy in Florence in April 2014.
