France Gala Dinner

Paris, January 30, 2012

Gala evening for the Bailliage of Paris/Ile de France at the Hotel de Crillon

In 1758, King Louis XV entrusted the greatest architect of his day, Jacques-Ange Gabriel, with the construction of two façades of the Place de la Concorde, resulting in a masterpiece of 18th century architecture.

Behind one of these majestic frontages was built a sumptuous mansion decorated by the finest artists and craftsmen of the time. Thus was born the Hotel de Crillon, created with the intention of receiving high-ranking Ambassadors.

Owned for a very long time by the illustrious family of the Counts de Crillon, in 1909 the property was transformed into a luxury hotel. Since then it has hosted travellers from around the world in search of comfort and service in the luxury of an old Parisian mansion.

This very special hotel on the Place de la Concorde was thus a most fitting location for a Soirée de Gala to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.

Executive Chef Christopher Hache, awarded 2 stars by the Guide Michelin, prepared an exquisite menu to enchant our palates:

Champagne Laurent Perrier Brut NV

Golden Normandy scallop, walnut crunch, nettle ravioli with Gorgonzola
Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru 2008

Corn-fed Landes chicken, glazed with Albufera sauce, macaroni gratin
Beaune Premier Cru Grèves 2007

Mille-feuille with bourbon vanilla

Café and Sweetmeats

At the end of the dinner, Chef Hache was congratulated for flattering the tastebuds of even the most demanding gourmets.
