Ecuador December events

Samborondón (Guayaquil), December 2 & 9, 2014

The Bailliage held two events in the first few days of December. Both were in Plaza Lagos Town Center, the new restaurant district inaugurated two years ago in Samborondón, a suburb of Guayaquil.

On December 2nd all members were invited to a free of charge event – a gesture made by the Bailliage once per year. Fifty members accepted the invitation to a ‘Cheese and Wine’ evening sponsored by Mondel, a brand which has been in the Ecuadorian market for more than ten years.

The second event was held a week later on December 9th in JN Blue, formerly called Blu. When it opened some 12 years ago it soon became the city’s most innovative and avant-garde restaurant. One of the first dinner events of the Chaîne was held there. However a change of owners in 2012 together with the move to Plaza Lagos did not go well. Fortunately it is now in the hands of two Venezuelan Chefs (a husband and wife) who are successfully reviving the establishment’s fortunes.

The dinner was very a great success with lots of favourable comments coming from the diners. Almost 70 members attended, many having booked weeks in advance of the deadline.
