Spain Christmas Dinner

Following the tradition of previous years, Bailli Ruben Dreins once again organised a Christmas dinner for the members and guests of the Bailliage of Barcelona.

The event was held at the well-known Michelin 1-star Restaurante Via Veneto, owned and run by the father/son team of Don José Monje and Pedro Monje.

Knowing the high standards of the establishment it came as no surprise that great care and attention to detail had been taken, both in the organisation and with the cuisine.

Via Veneto is on the best restaurants in Barcelona. The Belle Époque design which follows the modernist tradition of Barcelona is well worth a visit in itself. Salvador Dali was a regular and always sat at the same table.

Classic Catalan cooking blended with lighter ‘new wave’ European fare has reinforced the restaurants reputation as a magnet for gastronomes. Complementing food of the highest standard are a legendary wine list and flawless service.

Needless to say the Bailliage’s dinner was an outstanding gastronomic success. The members and guests enjoyed a lovely evening, one which created much enthusiasm for the coming year’s programme of events.
