Monaco Dinner

January 31, 2015

A delightful evening at the Yacht Club in Monaco

The Yacht Club in Monaco welcomed members of the Bailliage National and guests, along with its Bailli Délégué, Gérard Canarie, to its new “luxury liner”.

The Yacht Club was given a makeover last June and its new home resembles a liner opened up to the sea, designed by the architect Norman Foster. Everyone marvelled at the architecture before taking their places in the dining room.

After an aperitif and appetisers, courtesy of the prestigious champagne house Moët et Chandon, we were served dishes conceived by Chef Sébastien Ossetti, all inspired by the products of the sea. The famous Horizon by Pastry Chef Nicolas Caillaud was particularly appreciated.

Lynch Bordeaux wines delighted the palates of the guests while we were given valuable tasting tips from Messrs Palanca and Milardi, sommeliers based in Monaco.

The event was a truly international affair, with France represented by Michel Terzian, Bailli Provincial for Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. There was also a healthy Italian delegation, led by Gabriella Ivaldo, Bailli of Liguria, who had made the journey to enjoy this fantastic social occasion.

This delightful evening, with some really delicious dishes, ended with a full tour of the venue, with the help of Catering Manager Gérard Fossali.
