Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs

Announcing the new Committee

Following a recent meeting of the International Board it is with much pleasure that we can announce that Mohamed Hammam, Member of the Conseil d’Administration and Bailli Délégué of Turkey, has been appointed as Chair of the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD).

Mohamed is joined on the reformed management committee by Hal Small, Member of the Conseil d’Administration and Bailli Délégué of the USA, and by Benoît Fragnière, Member of the Conseil d’Administration and Chancelier of Switzerland.

The OMGD specialises in and concentrates on wines, spirits, liqueurs, and eaux de vie. It was founded in Paris in 1963 and is an integral part of the Chaîne. Its goal is to promote and enhance the enjoyment (as well as a better understanding and in-depth knowledge) of fine wines and quality spirits from around the world.

Mohamed was appointed by the Board in view of his enthusiasm for the concept of the OMGD, evidenced by the Bailliage of Turkey having one of the highest numbers of OMGD members in the Chaîne world.
