Bailliage of Algarve

Thirty members and guests attended the Bailliage’s third event of 2015 at Monte Rei Country Club. The group of 10 different nationalities was welcomed by the General Manager, Maître Hôtelier Salvador de Lucena.

Drinks and an amuse bouche were served on the terrace of the Club’s ‘Vistas’ restaurant overlooking the immaculate fairways of the golf course and gardens. Lunch was taken indoors in an amicable and relaxed atmosphere.

Crab meat cannelloni with mango and passion fruit, truffle aroma

Wild golden bream on a bed of fresh spinach, raisins, pine nuts and bell pepper coulis

Angus steak with potato mille-feuille and Béarnaise sauce

Our own version of tiramisu

Coffee and petits fours

Chef Jaime Perez, with his kitchen brigade, had prepared a well-balanced menu demonstrating his personal style as well as his professional experience in top restaurants in Spain. Wines from Portugal accompanied the courses.




Bailliage officers and members are very much looking forward to June when the Algarve will be hosting the annual Grand Chapitre (from 11th – 14th) of the Bailliage of Portugal. It is anticipated that members of our global fraternity from many counties will participate and experience some of gastronomic highlights as well as the natural beauty of the region.
