Bailliage of Greater Lisbon members welcome a party from the Pfalz-Saar-Mosel in Germany

The Bailliage had the wonderful experience of dining at the upscale Restaurante Feitoria within the Altis Belém Hotel & Spa, a design hotel in Lisbon.

The restaurant has a Michelin star. Its chef, João Rodrigues, specialises in traditional Portuguese gastronomy. His signature style is to take traditional dishes and blend them with the more exotic cuisines of the world whilst preserving the genuine essence of local flavours.



A double pleasure awaited us: superb food in the company of 18 confrères from the Bailliage of Pfalz-Saar-Mosel in Germany led by Bailli Designate Dr. Heinz P. Gander. Gastronomy and international camaraderie boxes were both ticked thus meeting the highest ideals of the Chaîne.

Dry white and rosé wines from the Setubal region were offered at the reception together with an amuse bouche prepared by the kitchen team.

Oxtail stew, wild mushrooms and black truffle

Sea bass with clams and goose barnacles from the Algarve

Limousin beef cooked with citrus fruit and cardamom

The beef main course was fantastic! The dessert is traditional in Spain and Portugal. It is a sweet sponge cake made with crushed almonds and many egg yolks!

Feitoria Restaurant & Wine Bar is an exclusive gourmet restaurant specialising in signature dishes prepared by the skilful hands of Chef João Rodrigues. The dinner had a sumptuous atmosphere of sophistication complemented by a generous selection of fine wines.
