Hungary Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs

Budaörs, May 15, 2015

Hungary is ready to organise the 2015 International Final!

In preparation for participating – and indeed hosting – the International Final of the Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition, Hungary held its National Final on May 15th. Eleven talented young chefs competed at the METRO Gastro Academy. The 2015 International Final will also be held on September 11th at this venue situated some 15kms from Budapest.

Considered as rehearsal for the organisation of the world event in September, the National Final applied the rules prescribed by the official international manual. The occasion was also good experience for the students from the Budapest Economy High School who were responsible for serving the dishes.
The award ceremony took place at the end of a gala dinner in Corinthia Hotel, Budapest, where competitors, members, their guests, sponsors and other special invitees enjoyed a fine menu and were entertained by spectacular programme.
Ádám Mede won a very close competition. He works at the Michelin 1-star Onyx Restaurant in Budapest.

The young chef de partie will be facing even stiffer competition at the International Final. However, he will be getting the best help possible with his preparations. The owners of the Onyx are Chancelier Katalin Pintér and Zoltán Hamvas, a former Conseiller Culinaire. They will be ensuring Ádám has every facility made available together with the help of the restaurant’s Executive Chefs, Szabina Szulló and Tamás Széll. Both Szabina and Tamás are former Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs competitors. Furthermore, Tamás represented Hungary at the Bocuse d’Or final in Lyon in 2013 where he was placed 9th.

The Bailliage of Hungary is very much looking forward to hosting the International Final. We are ready to welcome the young, talented competitors, the Competition Committee and judges, as well as Chaine members and their guests interested in participating in the concurrent Grand Chapitre celebrating the Bailliage’s 25th Anniversary!
