Our annual Induction Ceremony and Gala Dinner were held, as is now the tradition, at the Relais & Châteaux-listed Stikliai Hotel.

Bailli Délégué Romualdas Zakarevičius, co-owner of the Stiklai, presided over the Induction Ceremony which saw the following new members receive their formal Chaîne insignia: Gediminas Balnis, Algirdas Furmanavičius, Kristina Kovaitė, Violeta Eitutienė, Gytis Kauzonas, Šarūnas Magelinskas, Laura Magelinskienė, Alma Dūdienė and Indrė Leikauskaitė.

To celebrate the joyous occasion a Gala Dinner followed in the hotel’s restaurant. The kitchen brigade had created a menu especially for the evening and to accompany the courses the restaurant professionals had carefully chosen a fine selection of wines.

We commenced with smoked eel and beetroot terrine with parsnip crisps and pumpkin. For the fish course, the delicate flavours of perch and crayfish with zucchini and almond cream were sublime.


Then, to refresh the palate, a cucumber and vodka sorbet was served. This led us on to the pièce de résistance, a rich and hearty main course of braised duck leg with orange, chestnut purée and foie gras. The dinner was crowned by a dessert of chestnut parfait with nut meringue, mandarin sorbet and persimmon.


The Stikliai Hotel offers a high level of service and comfort. Combined with the professionalism and warm hospitality of the staff, it was never in doubt that we would enjoy another perfect and unforgettable event.
