Hungary AGM & Dinner

Budapest, October 13, 2012

The Bailliage held its Annual General Meeting at the Budapest Hilton Hotel. After four years in office, the National Council was unanimously confirmed for a further term. The declared main aim going forward is to achieve greater involvement by younger people, not simply as members but also in the preparation of the events and the Bailliage’s operation in general.
The hotel’s situation was a key factor in deciding the location for the event. Up on Castle Hill with arguably the most picturesque view of the city, one can admire the Parliament building as well as the magnificent banks of the River Danube with their iconic buildings, especially the Fisherman’s Bastion and the famous Mathias Church.

The meeting was celebrated by a dinner comprising seven exquisitely decorated and deliciously tasting courses, each one matched with a famous Hungarian wine. The evening had a very warm and friendly atmosphere with live music enabling members and friends to dance.

The occasion was made even more special by a memorable Cognac tasting. Overall it was a great culinary event and a good start to the new term for the Bailliage and its Board.
