Côte d’Ivoire Dinner

The place to be on July 18th for professionals and lovers of international gastronomy was the Hôtel Sofitel in Abidjan (formerly the Hôtel Ivoire from 1963 to 2011).

Bailli Délégué Maître Serge Roux had invited his guests to the 23rd floor of this international 5-star hotel on the shores of the Ébrié lagoon.



To ensure maximum comfort and safety, the “Toit d’Abidjan” Restaurant had limited attendance to 60 guests. Our Bailli Délégué therefore had the difficult task of selecting the lucky few among the members of the Bailliage, as well as officials and other local and foreign guests.



The party eventually included Roger Kacou, the Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister for Tourism; Laurent Souquière – Senior Advisor for the French Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire; Martine Ducoulombier, Vice-Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire; Henry Weycksman, Chairman of the Belgian Chamber of Commerce; Lt. Colonel Rémi Bouzereau, Commandant of the Licorne joint forces; Victor Yapobi, Chairman of Comici. The Côte d’Ivoire business leaders included Frank Lovens, DGA Socida; Mr Liversain, PCA Uniwax; Hamid Sidine, Director of Sofitel in Abidjan; Maître Chaveau, barrister for the French Embassy; Mr and Mrs Jean-Marc Monteil, Sorepci; Michel Mercante, DGA Socoprim.



The Toît d’Abidjan and its Head Chef, Pascal Favier, hosted a fabulous event from beginning to end. From the welcome drink to the dessert, each course contributed to a fantastic experience. The wines were carefully chosen to suit the romantic setting (dimmed lighting and candles), without impairing the culinary judgement of the guests and the Conseil Gastronomique represented by Me Roux, the Bailli Délégué.



The Toit d’Abidjan passed with flying colours, with an above average score for the quality of the dishes, the ingredients, cooking and presentation.
