Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition 2013

Istanbul, September 6, 2013

The 37th International Final of the Chaîne’s Jeunes Chefs Competition was held in Turkey at the Culinary Arts Academy of Istanbul.

Featuring 20 young chefs from around the world, the winners, declared at a special Awards’ Ceremony at the Hilton Hotel Istanbul, were:

1st place: Jan-Philipp Berner, Germany (Gourmetrestaurant Lerbach)

2nd place: Jimmi Eriksson, Sweden (Pontus!)

3rd place: Yusuf Kizilirmak, Turkey (Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler)


Jan-Philipp Berner was also awarded the Wusthof Kitchen Award.



A full, illustrated report on this 2013 Final of the Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition will appear in this year's edition of the Chaîne's new format magazine: the 'Revue internationale de la Chaîne' which is due to be published in late November and circulated to members worldwide.



The Mutfak Sanatları Akademisi (MSA) – or Culinary Arts Academy of Istanbul – is an international culinary school founded in 2004. It is accredited by City & Guilds and recognised by the World Association of Chefs Societies for its superior quality of professional education.

MSA’s campus in Istanbul Maslak features professional kitchens, state-of-the art equipment, an amateur workshop kitchen, a bar and mixology classroom, a sommelier training facility, seminar rooms, Turkey’s one and only kitchen auditorium, R&D lab and a restaurant called Okulun Mutfagi where MSA students complete their practical studies.
