Bailliage of Izmir - ‘Michelin-starred Chef’ event

The Bailliage held a memorable dinner at Equinox, the fine dining restaurant of the Swissôtel Büyük Efes. Equinox, located on the hotel’s 9th Floor is known for offering innovative food whilst enjoying an amazing view over Izmir Bay.



Seventy members, partners and guests were very excited at the thought of experiencing the extraordinary culinary talent of Michelin-starred French Chef Christian Plumail (of the Restaurant L’Univers in Nice) with the most exquisite tastes and extravagant presentations he creates.



The event started with a cocktail in the hotel’s Sky Bar followed by the dinner of delicious Mediterranean fusions and taste creations. Chef Plumail certainly demonstrated his amazing talent to combine cooking heritage with contemporary cuisine.

Déclinaison of oyster in aspic and cromesqui with caviar

Lobster salad with green apple and avocado, served with Coriander Pesto

Cannelloni of scallop with squid, sauce Niçoise, squid ink

Red mullet tart with tomato juice and marinated zucchini flowers with thyme

Grilled veal and its casseroled sweetbreads, with gnocchi and porcini mushrooms

Selection of French cheese

Mille-feuille with lavender cream and homemade ice cream

Baby fruit soup with red wine and spices

Coffee and petits fours



The wines served during the evening were carefully chosen by Vice-Échanson Enis Guner. They consisted of an exclusive selection from various Turkish as well French boutique wineries.

It was a wonderful and unique evening where culinary passion and gastronomy formed a successful symbiosis.
