Greece Dinner

Our first event for the year 2012 was a dinner and celebration of the “New Year Cake”. It was in a different format compared to previous years as we themed the evening “A jazzy night” and for the entertainment engaged a magnificent group with an extraordinarily gifted saxophonist-vocalist.

This innovatively-themed event was held at Browns Restaurant in the Divani Caravel Hotel. A member of “The Leading Hotels of the World”, this luxury hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Athens. It epitomizes refinement, elegance, and outstanding service.



The five-course dinner menu was the inspired creation of the hotel’s Executive Chef. Each course was matched with excellent Greek wines, all sponsored specially for the evening by the Vassiliou Estate. The estate owner, Giorgos Vassiliou is one of the best known winemakers in Greece and of course is a member of our Bailliage.



 
Concluding the event was the ceremonial cutting of the “Cake” followed by a draw for the lucky token which corresponded to a prestigious silver coin dating from the beginning of 20th century!

 
 
 
The departure from what has gone before, together with the high standards achieved by the hotel’s kitchen and service brigades, meant that it was an exceptional evening. All who attended had a really good time!
