Cyprus Dinner

Limassol, March 15, 2012

Our third event for 2012 – an Italian-themed dinner – was held at the Ristorante Bacco of the Mediterranean Beach Hotel, a superior 4-star resort. The hotel's location on one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Limassol provides spectacular views of Cyprus’ southern coastline.

Massimo Mannozzi, owner of the worldwide-chain of Bacco Restaurants, was our guest of honour. A professional member of the Chaîne, his restaurant was the first to join our brotherhood in Berlin.

The evening commenced with a pre-dinner reception at which Zardetto Prosecco 2010 from the Veneto was served. The wines for the evening had been chosen by Echanson Heinz Müller and me.



Due to the limited space available, sadly no guests were able to attend. Members were limited to their spouse only. Those members and their partners who had booked early on a ‘first come, first served’ basis were able to delight in the following menu and wines:

Fresh homemade ravioli with seafood, salmon and scallops, lemon and caper cream sauce
Torre de Giano 2010, Lungarotti (Umbria)

Risotto with mushrooms, apple, quail and goose liver
Chardonnay 2009, Planeta (Sicily)

Duo of herb-crusted lamb loin and baby veal sirloin with
sweet potatoes and thyme sauce

Promis 2009, Angelo Gaja (Tuscany)

Trio of vanilla panna cotta, home-made tiramisu and dark chocolate mousse
Moscato di Noto 2007, Planeta (Sicily)

Freshly-brewed coffee and petits fours
Grappa di Rubesco, Lungarotti (Umbria)

It was a fantastic evening, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance. To show our appreciation we heartily applauded Massimo Mannozi and his staff.
