Hungary Dinner

The Bailliage of Hungary organised a Dîner amical at the newly-opened Bodrogi Restaurant located in the heart of Buda, the hilly part of the city of Budapest.

Owner Adam Bodrogi, Maitre Restaurateur, has set out to concentrate on haute cuisine matched by high quality wines. Entering the restaurant the first thing we observed was the demonstration kitchen. Through a large glass window we could see the work of the kitchen brigade – a marvellous insight into the skills of the chefs.

        

The Chef gave a detailed description of the dishes, not hesitating to include amusing anecdotes to colour his presentation. The Sommelier gave a similarly anecdotal discourse on the wines. The style made sure the members and guests were in excellent mood for the dinner to commence.

Everyone enjoyed the innovative, flavoursome courses and the accompanying delicious wine selection. The dessert was really a marvel for the eye – a beautiful colour combination which tasted like heaven.



After the dinner and presentation we had a chance to taste different Hungarian traditional palinka (digestives). During the santé du chef, the Chaîne Professionals’ plaque was presented to Maître Restaurateur Adam Bodrogi.

Those who wished to conclude the evening with a fine cigar adjourned to the terrace, the only place where smoking is now allowed after the introduction of strict smoking restrictions!
