Turkey Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs

National Final - Istanbul, May 4, 2012

We held our 16th National Final of the Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition at Turkey’s leading culinary school, Mutfak Sanatları Akademisi. Fifteen talented young chefs from member hotels and restaurants around the country took part in the competition.



The jury panel comprised 12 members, three of whom were kitchen judges and the other nine were tasting judges divided into three groups of three who had to taste all the entries of the 15 competitors.




Thereafter, the award ceremony took place at MSA’s auditorium and the names of the top three were revealed as below.

The Bailliage’s best young chef for 2012 is Ferhat Sezer from the Four Seasons Hotel Sultanahmet. He will represent Turkey at the International Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition Final in Berlin in September.

The Runner-up was Ibrahim Karan from the Hilton Hotel Istanbul and in Third place was Halil Özkonya from the Swissôtel Grand Efes Izmir.



At the end of the Award Ceremony Bailli Délégué Mohamed Hammam thanked all the young competitors and their establishments for their interest and participation in the competition, as well as the 12 jury members for their support and active participation.

Mohamed also thanked the main sponsor of the competition: Mutfak Sanatlari Akademisi and presented them with a special Bailliage of Turkey commemorative plaque in recognition and appreciation for hosting the competition at their esteemed school.

The presentation also very much recognized their sponsoring the competition expenses and for coordinating all the other sponsors of the black box ingredients, equipment and other non-food items. These other sponsors included: Electrolux, Paşabahҫe, Dolfin Gida, Etҫi, Hunerler Tarim, Iҫim, Imren, Kayra Wine, Keskinoğlu, Altin Marka, Diversey and Tefal. All were presented with a Bailliage of Turkey commemorative certificate.
