"Bastille Day" Dinner at Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar

How wonderful it was to hear from all who attended that the dinner at Little Truffle Dining Room & Bar to mark the French national holiday on July 14th, colloquially known as “Bastille Day”, was superb!

The excellently-cooked food, partnered by delightful wines, received the thumbs up by everyone with some saying that it was the best dinner they had for a long time … and that is saying something!



Warm congratulations were given to Chef Daniel Ridgeway and his brigade, as well as to Restaurant Manager Christian Mak and the service team, for such an excellent evening.

- Wagyu steak tartare on toasted brioche, truffle mayonnaise

- Moreton Bay bug quenelles, mustard fruit beurre blanc

- Pan-fried quail breasts served with cep risotto and watercress

- Beef bourgignon

- Raspberry soufflé with white chocolate sauce


Victorian-born Daniel Ridgeway was first introduced to the kitchen at age seven, cooking alongside his Thai aunty preparing Thai banquets and also helping in his family’s traditional pizza restaurant after school.

At 15 he began his apprenticeship at a five star international resort. Now, after achieving notable success beyond his years and having worked under various world leading chefs in London, Vancouver and Melbourne, Daniel has settled on the Gold Coast to run his own restaurant.

The Little Truffle Restaurant Manager is Christian Mak, who is also Daniel’s business partner and long-time friend. A Gold Coast local, he has sound knowledge and experience in the fields of hospitality and management.
