To celebrate the start of 2013 – the Year of the Snake in the Chinese calendar – a Gala Induction evening was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

Reputed to be the tallest hotel in the world, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong is an opulent sanctuary nestled in a 490 metre high skyscraper from which to marvel at the scenic panoramas of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.

Veuve Clicquot Champagne and tempting canapés were served at the reception.

The Hong Kong Police Pipe Band then led everyone into the ballroom for the Induction Ceremony. Bailli Délégué Cassam Gooljarry, in his capacity as a Member of the Conseil Magistral, proceeded to induct 22 new members.

The Gala Dinner which followed was attended by some 200 members and their guests with the guest of honour being Arnaud Barthélémy, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau.




Executive Chef Peter Find and his kitchen brigade paid homage to the greatest French chefs, namely Carême, Escoffier, Vatel and Tirel, by reproducing some of their specialities in the six-course menu:

Many wonderful moments were captured on camera. Everyone enjoyed meeting old friends and making new ones whilst indulging in fine dining in a jovial and friendly atmosphere.



All was made possible thanks to the hard work of those who had contributed to planning for the event and its implementation on the day. Not to be forgotten of course was the marvellous support of the Bailliage’s members.
