Côte d'Ivoire Dinner

Exquisite food made with passion from fresh, seasonal ingredients: with such an approach to food Le Grand Large was the perfect choice in Abidjan for the first dinner of 2013 for the Bailliage of Côte d’Ivoire.

Bailli Délégué Maître Serge Roux welcomed 70 members and guests amongst whom were His Excellency Yalçin Kaya Erensoy, Turkey’s Ambassador in Côte d'Ivoire and Gilles Della Guardia, Director for West Africa at UBIFRANCE.



Host Jérôme Bergen explained that the theme for the feast his team had prepared was ‘the ocean ranging from Spain to Abidjan’.

The gastronomic journey began with an original take on the classic gazpacho: tomato served three ways - as a soup, then in its natural state, and finally as a sorbet for our appetisers.



The starter was a ‘surprise’ salad with lobster and mango, gradually revealing a homemade thyme ice cream. Steamed sole, served with smoked milk and accompanied by sweet potatoes and seasonal vegetables followed. Dessert was ‘mango opaline’, served on a raspberry coulis.

SODIREP provided four different wines from the Domaine de Tariquet (in the Gers, SW France). Perfectly paired with the menu, these delicious wines were a real treat.



In closing, Bailli Délégué Roux praised the quality of the food and wine. This delighted all the guests as the evening was a great success for both Le Grand Large and the Bailliage’s organising committee.
