Bailliage of Kansai - Osaka, February 28, 2012

This Chapitre of the Bailliage of Kansai, of which Hajime Kawagoshi is Bailli, was held at the Rihga Royal Hotel.
 
The hotel takes pride in being one of the largest in Japan. It has more than twenty restaurants and bars serving food from around the world including Japanese cuisine. It also has some sixty shops and thus has been said to function as a complete town!

At the Induction Ceremony, presided over by our own Bailli Délégué, Saihei Makinami, in his capacity as a Member of Conseil d’Administration, four new members received their Chaîne insignia, as did the six members promoted to a higher grade.



There were 68 members and guests at the Gala Dinner that followed the ceremony. An elaborate menu was prepared by Officier Maître Rôtisseur Eiji Miyagawa, the special cuisine adviser of the Rihga Royal Hotel.

The first course was symbolised early spring. Green and white asparagus with ‘fruits of the sea’ were beautifully arranged and visually wonderful. Then there was a double consommé soup with classic roast beef for main the course.



Chef Miyagawa’s humour came to the fore with the next course. Cold tea-buckwheat noodle was a real surprise and made for much amusement with the guests. As dessert was served there was a new member’s speech which is a tradition of the Bailliage of Kansai. And thus another exceptional Gala Dinner ended harmoniously.
