Switzerland - The Chedi Andermatt

Bailliage of Switzerland
Awarded once again

The resort is tempting and inspiring by being very different

Gault & Millau named 5-star deluxe The Chedi Andermatt its 2017 Hotel of the Year. This was followed by Karl Wild’s famous hotel ranking awarding it “Best Holiday Hotel 2018/19”.

Vinum, a well-known European wine magazine whose patron is the Swiss Sommeliers’ Association, honoured The Chedi Andermatt for a second time with its Swiss Wine List Award. Especially honoured was the impressive selection of sparkling wines.

The Chedi Andermatt opened its doors to an international clientele in 2013. Alpine chic combined with finest Asian cuisine and pleasures of a unique Swiss mountain experience make for a winning combination. Managed by General Manager Jean-Yves Blatt, Maître Hôtelier, the resort is tempting and inspiring by being very different.

The differences and highlights include guests experiencing the chefs’ work first hand by looking into the four theatre kitchens; a five-metre high glass cheese cellar; an outstanding sushi and sashimi bar; a tempura counter; the largest selection of sake in the Alps.

At The Chedi experience the outstanding passion of Executive Chef Dietmar Sawyere, Chef Rôtisseur, for the finest cuisine. He brings a wealth of international culinary experience starting at The Savoy Hotel age 16 up to owning his own restaurants in Australia and New Zealand before taking the helm at The Chedi. Chef Rôtisseur member of the Chaîne, Armin Egli, is also a key member of the kitchen brigade.

Head Sommelier, Simon Gustafsson and his team relish the continuous challenge resulting from the Vinum award to select from the most prestigious wines to make a perfect match with the delightful food.

General Manager Jean-Yves Blatt joined The Chedi after its debut year. His career in hospitality is distinguished by its concentrated focus in Switzerland and with properties clustered among the upper ranks of the world’s most esteemed hotels.

Searching for excellent dining in Switzerland? Without doubt The Chedi is the destination.
