Induction Ceremony and Gala Dinner
" a Grand Chapitre full of iconic moments and memories to savour "

On Saturday, May 11th, the Induction Ceremony (with over 100 members listed) was held in the Municipal Theatre of Atri, one of the architectural landmarks that characterises the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) in the town.

It is a neo-classical theatre with the seating in horseshoe-shaped tiers, a style modelled on the famous Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

With due formality yet with touches of British humour the Ceremony was presided over by Philip Evins, Member of the Conseil Magistral from Great Britain.

Afterwards in the Cathedral Cloister there was a celebratory reception featuring a buffet of Teramo specialities provided by Maître Restaurateur Daniele Zunica of the historic Ristorante Zunica 1880 founded by Antonio Zunica in Civitella del Tronto.

The Cathedral dates from the 13th century having been built on the remains of a previous Romanesque structure. Its Cloister is a marvellous brick-building, an excellent example of medieval monastic architecture with a central green space.

That evening, the Gala dinner in Marcantonio Castle in Cepagatti (Pescara) was attended by a remarkable number (200) of members and guests.

Among the Chefs involved directly or indirectly with preparing the wonderful dinner were three Maîtres Rôtisseurs:
- Mattia Spadone , Michelin 1-star Hotel-Ristorante La Bandiera in Civitella Casanova
- Giuseppe Tinari, Michelin 1-star Villa Maiella in Guardiagrele
- Niko Romito, Michelin 3-star Ristorante Reale in Castel di Sangro.

During the evening Maître Rôtisseur Marcello Spadone of the Hotel-Ristorante La Bandiera was presented with his Silver Commandeur Award. Indeed a Grand Chapitre full of iconic moments and memories to savour.
