Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte
" The Baillis Délégués of Vietnam and the Principality of Monaco .. travelled especially to attend the event "
The Bailliage Provincial, led by Laurent Poultier du Mesnil, organised an outing to the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte.
Vaux-le-Vicomte was the inspiration for the Palace of Versailles. Indeed, King Louis XIV was so overcome with jealousy when he was received at Vaux-le-Vicomte that he had its owner imprisoned and requisitioned all the artists who had worked on it to have them build Versailles.
A dinner was organised at La Table Saint Just (Chef Fabrice Vitu), the former farm of the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte.

All the guests headed first to the Carriage Museum and then to the Château where they were welcomed by the owner, Alexandre de Vogüé.
The tour of the Château, lit exclusively by candles, was led by Laurent Poultier du Mesnil. It ended in the garden, lit up by thousands of candles, with a firework display as would have been seen during the King’s reign, in other words, with nothing but silver and gold.
The Baillis Délégués of Vietnam and the Principality of Monaco, respectively Rajesh Taneja and Gérard Canarie, travelled especially to attend the event. The participants (36 of us in total) were enchanted, and some took the opportunity to go back to the Château, which had been reserved for Chaîne members only, to take some stunning photos.
