Algarve members were joined by Fernando Messias, Bailli of Lisbon, for a gastronomic lunch at Restaurant A Ver Tavira. Nestled at the foot of the castle in Tavira old town’s picturesque streets and positioned with beautiful, panoramic views of the old Moorish town down to both river and sea.

With its contemporary interior A Ver Tavira is very much a combination of old and new. Chef Luis Brito was recently awarded a Michelin star, a well-deserved accolade for his international career particularly in Europe, Brazil and Angola.

Drawing inspiration from Portuguese cuisine traditions, together with wonderful fresh produce of the Algarve region, Chef Luis Brito’s vast experience helps him create unique combinations and exciting twists to dishes he serves.

We enjoyed a welcome drink on the terrace after which we dined.

Wines were expertly selected and paired by Sommelier Claudia Abrantes. She knowledgeably answered questions from the group regarding her selections.
