Italian theme at the St Regis
" An exciting gastronomic event from the buzzing reception through to dinner "

The intimate dinner was held in the Villa Toscana Restaurant of St Regis Abu Dhabi.

To quote directly from the St Regis’ website:
“Simplicity is central to Italian and Tuscan cuisine. At Villa Toscana, the food bridges tradition and elegance, serving hand-crafted, regional specialties from Tuscany, Umbria, and Emilia-Romagna. The restaurant's design, inspired by a Tuscan villa, creates the feel of visiting the home of an Italian noble at his summer residence where family and friends meet, welcomed by the chef-patron.”

Champagne G.H. Mumm ‘Le Rosé’ Brut was served at the welcoming reception together with crispy arancini and assorted bruschetta.

The young chefs making up the culinary team put together their dishes with skill and precision. The service team carefully and gracefully poured the wines and waited on us impeccably.

The wines started with Ciropicariello Greco di Tufo with the burrata. After which we navigated our way to a Gavi ‘La Fornace’ DOCG served with the pumpkin and mascarpone ravioli.

There followed Piana dei Fichi Dolcetto D’Alba for the fish course with a Millepassi Bolgheri Superiore 2012 accompanying the perfectly-cooked beef tenderloin. The vinous selection ended with a ‘just right’ Scavi & Ray Prosecco Spumante paired with the traditional tiramisu.

An exciting gastronomic event from the buzzing reception through to dinner. Certainly, it was an impressive, memorable evening for everyone.
