In the most beautiful early autumn weather, the Bailliage of Grisons met at Restaurant La Riva at the invitation of Maître Rôtisseur Dominique Schrotter and host, Officer Michael Rubach, for the traditional lunch. Many guests from the surrounding Bailliages made the journey to the Graubünden mountains and were surprised again with the standard achieved.

On the terrace, the guests enjoyed a firework display of bite-size delights, cleverly put together and magnificently presented. Merotto Prosecco offered by the restaurant complemented the culinary delights in the midday sun.

In the restaurant, guests took a seat at tables lovingly “dressed” for autumn and were officially welcomed by Officer Michael Rubach.

The menu sequence surprised with light dishes, seasonal ingredients, supplemented with aromatic jus, soups and sauces none of which detracted from the consistency of the dishes.

Elaborate presentations pleased the eye. One paused briefly to admire the high level of craftsmanship of preparation and display on the plate before daring to taste. The whole rib of beef by Maître Rôtisseur Dominique Schrotter showed the true art of the Rôtisseur.

The paired wines from the Wachau, Burgenland, the Bündner Herrschaft and South Tyrol rounded off the dishes as great treats.

With great applause, Werner Gerber, Vice-Conseiller Gastronomique of the Bailliage of Zurich-Ville, thanked the kitchen and service brigades for the wonderful lunch which was a success in every respect.

A big thank you also went to Officer Michael Rubach and his wife for the perfect organization once again of this autumn event in Lenzerheide. It has become a tradition. We are already looking forward to next year!
