Things are fine here in Brunei although the economy has suffered badly from the fall in oil prices.

Although currently a small Chaîne group we are very enthusiastic! Three events have already been held this year with more planned.

January 17th
An early Sunday evening outside gathering at “Alfresco at Salvo’s”. Currently our only professional member, Maître Rôtisseur Salvatore Intrigila hosted the event at his house and provided us with a fine selection of sausages, cheeses and barbecued meats.

February 26th
A Chinese New Year dinner was held in traditional style, including the tossing of the Yee Sang prosperity dish to bring good fortune. This was hosted at a Chinese restaurant under new management with the food prepared by Chef Sun. One of the signature dishes was an unusual charcoal tofu.

March 23rd
We had an informal gathering at “Sorriso”, Salvo Intrigila's Italian restaurant. The occasion was to present him with a commemorative plaque to acknowledge the excellent standards of cuisine he has brought to the Bailliage with events both at his restaurant and his home.
