In October, our National Bailliage celebrated its biennial gastronomic event in Abidjan.The Radisson Blu Hotel was the delightful venue for this convivial occasion, allowing us once again to continue the tradition of celebrating our cherished values of fraternity and sharing that are the foundations of the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

The first thing I would like to say about the event, on behalf of everybody is, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

On the evening of the Induction Ceremony, which took place in the Radisson Blu Hotel on 29 October, a total of twenty-four people swore the solemn oath that marked their official entry into the large family of Rôtisseurs. They were given the symbols of their membership and the insignia for their rank. The ceremony was presided over by Me Benoît Fragnière, Member of the Conseil d’Administration from Switzerland.

The Gala Dinner focused on ingredients and spices typical of Ivorian cuisine, demonstrating during this Grand Chapitre how local flavours work so well with international tastes. The dinner was marvellously colourful, surprising and unique. The dishes were prepared with extraordinary attention to detail and delicacy by a kitchen brigade committed to satisfying our expectations.

Before and after the gala evening, guests were given the chance to relax and visit the small seaside town of Jacqueville, not far from Abidjan, as well as Yamoussoukro, the political capital of Côte d’Ivoire and hometown of former President Félix Houphouët-Boigny.

This Grand Chapitre was the opportunity to invite fellow members from far and wide to discover the values and appeal of Ivorian gastronomy and the country itself. The success of the 2016 event demonstrates the vitality of the Bailliage of Côte d’Ivoire, which celebrated this year its 41st anniversary.
