Indonesia Chapitre

Bailliage of Jakarta, Indonesia
Jakarta, December 7, 2016

A triumph at Kunstkring Paleis Restaurant

It was a fitting end to an excellent year of dining as members and guests assembled in the gilded splendour of Kunstkring Paleis Restaurant in Jakarta for their final event of 2016: a gala Chapitre evening.

Tugu Hotels, Indonesia’s iconic hospitality group, create astonishing hotels and restaurants based on Indonesian and Asian heritage so the choice of the splendid Kunstkring in Menteng for this special occasion was extremely appropriate as its grandeur was perfectly in tune with the ancient ceremony of induction into the Chaîne.

The other important aspect of this selection was that the menu was 100% Indonesian cuisine, something that we had not experienced all year. As the Bailliage in Indonesia’s capital city we felt it was important to have at least one dinner a year celebrating the country’s best dishes.

Starting the evening was the Induction Ceremony presided over by our own Bailli Délégué, Firdaus Siddik, in his capacity as a Member of the Conseil Magistral. He was supported by Bailli Provincial Alistair Spiers and Bailliage Council members.

Alsace sparkling wine and canapes were then served in the elegant Suzi Wong bar, after which everyone adjourned to the elegant main dining room to be served by the talented and attentive Kunstkring service team who also entertained guests with a welcome dance during the service of the first course!
