Given the 20 years since our Bailliage was founded, it was a good reason to celebrate the anniversary with a Chapitre. The InterContinental Pattaya Resort was chosen to be the location to host the event.

The Induction Ceremony took place on the beach at the resort in time to witness a spectacular sunset getting everybody into the right mood. Bailli Délègue Honoraire Joe Prasobsook Thawilveijakul, in his capacity as a Member of Conseil Magistral, welcomed five new members to the Bailliage and promoted six existing members.

Founder member Fredi Schaub, Vice-Conseiller Culinaire Honoraire, was presented with his Commandeur award for 20 years’ continuous membership. Carl Duggan received his promotion as Échanson Provincial and six new members were inducted into the Ordre Mondial (OMGD).

After the ceremony members and their guests mingled on the terrace of Infinity Restaurant, overlooking Pattaya Bay, for the cocktail reception with pass arounds and Champagne.

The Gala Dinner was served at the Grand Ballroom where beautifully-set tables awaited us. Chancelier Provincial Peter Windgasse welcomed the honoured guests, namely Inducting Officer Joe Thawilveijakul, Bailli Délégué Alan Kam and members of the National Council, founder member Fredi Schaub, Bailli Ian Lancaster and members of the Bailliage of Phuket and Raj Taneja, newly-promoted as Chargé de Missions of the Bailliage of Vietnam currently under development.

The InterContinental’s Chef, Sukij Wanpuech, and his team created an exceptional six-course dinner. Each course was accompanied by perfectly matched wines.

Halfway through the dinner we were entertained by The Barry Upton Band with a fabulous performance which made the night even more memorable.
