A group of Bailliage members and their guests headed by Bailli Délégué Rosa Román attended the gala awards evening in Barcelona for the AEFE (Agrupación Española de Fomento Europeo), to receive the organisation’s “European Golden Cross Plaque of Honour”.

The recognition is reinforced by the importance of the grantor, since the AEFE (English: Spanish Association for European Development) was founded in 1991 in the spirit of the “Paris Charter for a New Europe”, signed by the 32 European States, Canada and the USA, belonging to the Conference for Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE).

The AEFE aims to contribute to a greater rapprochement and integration of all peoples, cultures and ethnicities of Europe, to promote mutual exchange and mutual knowledge among them and to promote the idea of Europeanism as a supranational value, with the aim of achieving unity in Europe “person to person”, to achieve a Europe in peace, within a democratic framework of freedom, solidarity and harmony.

When we consider that the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is identified with these values, encouraging the friendship and the diffusion of different cultures through gastronomy, naturally we were thrilled to have been proposed for this award by His Excellency José Félix Bentz i Oliver, President of AEFE.

The Gala Awards Evening was held at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona. In the presence of fellow Chaîne members from Madrid, Barcelona and Tarragona, Bailli Délégué Rosa Román received the award from His Excellency José Félix Bentz i Oliver.
