Slovenia Lunch
Ljubljana, April 20, 2017
Spring menu at Bistro Monstera
" Chef Bine Volčič has created a great restaurant with quality food "

The Bailliage was obliged to bring forward its formal World Chaîne Day celebration event and as a result encouraged its members to individually raise a toast to the Chaîne on the actual day, April 22nd.

The reason for this was that in Slovenia most of the members take a short early summer vacation in the run up to Resistance Day on April 27th. Accordingly, we gathered a couple of days earlier at the Bistro Monstera in Ljubljana.

The name of the bistro is taken from the monstera plant (commonly known as the “Swiss cheese plant”). As Chef Bine Volčič says, “I have known the plant since my childhood. I played with Lego under one, I ran around another one in my primary school and I see it in public offices. Now we have one in our house and of course in the Bistro Monstera too!”

After a reception where everyone freshened their palates with sparkling Crémant de Bourgogne 2014 from Bailly Lapierre, members and their guests very much enjoyed the lunch.
