The InterContinental Bangkok played host to the first-ever national final of the Jeunes Sommeliers Competition in Thailand.

Based on the Court of Master Sommeliers (UK) Advanced Level testing procedures, the three-part exam included service, blind tasting and theory. A respected panel of judges was drawn from the Thailand wine industry.

Ms Phanwadee Manusphaibool, Sommelier for L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, was declared the winner. Accordingly, she will represent Thailand at International Finals in Budapest in September.

The other participants included Dirakerit Kotchawong, Assistant Manager/Sommelier at Riedel Wine Bar; Ms Nepaka Thongkerd, Sales Executive for Texica; Watchara Leelao, Sommelier at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok.
