The Bailliage held its AGM and formal dinner at the premium dining Italian Restaurant, Marini’s on 57. Perched on the top of Petronas Tower 3, the restaurant offered spectacular views of the country’s capital city.

The restaurant belongs to the well-known Modesto Marini who founded the Modesto chain of restaurants. Marini’s on 57 oozes class. What is more it has an incredible, well-stocked wine cellar. 

Pre-dinner drinks were served in the bar area. Through the restaurant‘s futuristic glass windows guests could see the gleaming iconic Petronas Twin Towers, the majestic KL Tower and the sprawling night lights of Kuala Lumpur City.

Despite the formality, it was a fun-filled evening. Guests took the opportunity of vying for the best place for taking photos to keep as mementos of an enjoyable evening.

Chef Simone Musu showcased an intriguing menu and Peter Teng, the restaurant’s Operations Manager, gave an interesting introduction to the accompanying wines.

The presentation of the colourful amuse bouche on a bonsai tree was fanciful and drew many “oohs” and “aahs” from the guests. The roasted cod was full of flavour and a firm favourite with the diners.

After the dinner there was much merriment as the diners mingled drinking toasts to each other. Many were seen taking selfiies and wefies with their cell phones. It was almost midnight when everyone bid goodnight to each other. What an enjoyable evening!!
