Thailand Dinner

Bailliage of Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok, May 27, 2017

Hosted by the Ambassador of Australia
" the concept for the evening was "All about Australia" "

The new Bailli Délégué, Arto Artinian, welcomed the members and their guests. In his opening remarks he said that the new National Council was eager and excited to take everyone on a culinary journey of exquisite gastronomic experiences. Events were being planned at Bangkok’s finest restaurants where outstanding Chefs would be honouring the art of cuisine and the culture of the table in the finest traditions of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

The first stage of the new and exciting culinary journey thus started with this exclusive dinner at the residence of the Ambassador of Australia to Thailand, His Excellency Paul Robilliard, a senior career officer with Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Designed by famous Australian architect Ken Woolley, the landmark Embassy building boasts breath-taking architecture and landscaping. The Ambassador’s residence is a tastefully-decorated house with a beautiful garden surrounded by a large pond. However to meet new security requirements the building is being decommissioned, we were therefore honoured to have the opportunity to be entertained there prior to this taking place.

Not surprisingly the concept for the evening was “All about Australia”. Executive Sous Chef Ryan Dunn and his culinary team from the Grand Hyatt Erawan created an exclusive menu through which we experienced seasonal and regional Australian food with carefully-selected wine pairings.

At the end of the evening warm appreciation was expressed to Ambassador Robilliard, as well as to Chef Ryan and the kitchen and service brigades.

Enjoy the photos – they tell the story of the evening much better than words can do.
