Since there’s no place like home, Bailli Dominick Addario chose the historic La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla (The Jewel) to celebrate our Bailliage’s 46th anniversary.

A member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and National Trust Historic Hotels of America, The Pink Lady, as she is called, stands statuesquely on the cliffs above the Pacific in the legendary seaside town in the greater city of San Diego. The Bailliage of La Jolla is the third oldest in California enjoying a renowned history of Baillis, including Barron Hilton.

Newly-elected Bailli Provincial Far West Phil Kress officiated at the Induction Ceremony assisted by Bailli Addario. Notable visitors were Harold Small, Member of the Conseil d’Administration and Bailli Délégué of USA, and Officier Susan Small, Bailli of Oahu Kimi Matar, as well Ira Falk, Member of the Conseil Magistral and Grand Échanson of USA, and Officier Melissa Falk.

Cocktails on the patio preceded the ceremony followed by a sumptuous meal prepared by Chef Rôtisseur Executive Chef Alex Emery, well known and respected for his operational prowess and passion for utilizing local and sustainable products. Bailli Addario brought a stunning Joseph Phelps ‘Insignia’ from his cellar and Vice-Échanson Ray Falkner and Professionnel du Vin Loretta Falkner donated an award-winning Falkner Winery Syrah.
