To nurture their relationship the Italy and Monaco Bailliages organised a rather unusual joint Dîner Amical dedicated to raw fish.

Italy was represented by the Bailliage of Sanremo and its Bailli, Gabriela Ivaldo.

It was at the famous restaurant “Romolo Amarea” in Bordighera that Gérard Canarie, Bailli Délégué of Monaco, welcomed the many guests keen to try the Chef’s specialities and enjoy all the nutritional benefits offered by raw fish.

A Moscow Mule cocktail served with a raw fish kebab was followed by a series of healthy dishes including red king prawns from Sanremo with a papaya salad, a leerfish ceviche with fried bread croutons and a coconut granita.

The bonito tartare that followed was particularly delicious, as was the thinly sliced avocado and yellowfin tuna.

A dessert of rhubarb, fig and ricotta ended this seafood feast on a sweet note.

Everybody appreciated the warm welcome given and the multitude of flavours served. The general consensus was that this event by the sea in late October was an unforgettable evening!
