France Grand Chapitre 2018

Bailliage of France
Bordeaux, September 20-22, 2018

Three outstanding days in and around Bordeaux

Bordeaux, in the heart of its wine region, is a city and port located on the River Garonne in the south-west of France. It is famous for the Gothic cathedral of Saint-André, its mansions built in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as its art museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts of Bordeaux. The public gardens follow the curves of the quays along the river. The Place de la Bourse, in the centre of which sits the fountain of the Three Graces, is reflected in the mirror of water.

It is a city symbolic of order and balance with its beautiful stone houses and mansions, the place of choice for neo-Classic style by famous architects, abode of authors and artists.

It is the custodian of an incomparable architectural and historical heritage, but also has a unique cultural and human heritage guaranteeing dynamism and modernity.

Bordeaux is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was the first such large urban area distinguished by UNESCO. This is recognition of the value and the heritage of the “Port of the Moon”.
