Spain Summer Dinner

Bailliage of Spain
Madrid, June 29, 2018

Friendship and camaraderie
" Bailli Délégué Rosa Román warmly acknowledged the participation of the wineries and the restaurant "

Our traditional summer dinner was held at the Vinoteca El Telégrafo in partnership with the Bailliage’s Ordre Mondial des Gourmet Dégustateurs (OMGD) group. The Vinoteca belongs to the Oter Group of our members Gerardo Oter and Teresa Torre.

At dinner the following menu was offered:

- Jamón Ibérico de Montanera with a house starter - paired with “Charlatán”, a Cigales DO rosé wine from the César Príncipe cellar contributed by Andrés Barsumián

- delicious seafood salad, again paired with the Charlatán rosé

- grilled sea bass with tomato and soft pesto - paired with “1932”, a white wine from the Ribeiro provided by Lorenzo Rolando de Francisco

- oxtail with seasonal mushrooms and black truffle - served with “Buenagente”, a red wine from Bodegas Alilian in the Ribera del Duero, that delighted the attendees and that left no one indifferent. It was contributed by Andrés Barsumián

- for dessert, baked Alaska and house desserts were accompanied by Saucí Naranja, from Bodegas Sauci, a sweet wine from the Condado de Huelva denomination which was supplied by the Vinoteca El Telégrafo itself.

During the dinner, we collaborated with the Fundación Menudos Corazones, a non-profit, nationwide organization that helps children with heart problems and their families.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner where friendship and camaraderie reigned. How could it be otherwise!

Gratitude was expressed to Gabriel, the Sommelier of the Vinoteca, who gave us the tasting note of each wine. Continuing the thanks, Bailli Délégué Rosa Román warmly acknowledged the participation of the wineries and the restaurant in making the event such a success. Diplomas were presented to the Head Chef and the Maître D’ on recognition of the great work done.

Last but not least, our sincere thanks go to Bat-Sheva Kokia and Liora Katzenstein, both members in Israel, who decided to join our dinner whilst on vacation in Madrid.

Vive la Chaîne!
