Denmark Dinner

Bailliage of Denmark
Nyborg, June 9, 2018

Exceptional standards maintained at Lieffroy

The Bailliage’s early summer event took place in the “heart of Denmark” as the city of Nyborg calls itself. We were at the well-known Restaurant Lieffroy located at the beach on the outskirts of Nyborg.

The restaurant is owned by Maître Rôtisseur Patrick Lieffroy and his wife, Helle. Patrick was almost born to be a chef. His father, Jean-Louis Lieffroy, was the man who raised Falsled Kro to stardom. He made sure that his son received a proper education from his former teammate Maître Rôtisseur Christian Bind. Patrick also worked in several other well-known restaurants in Denmark and abroad.

In 2010, he started his own place with a little help from his father who, even though he had retired, gave a helping hand … and still does. In the restaurant, Helle Lieffroy makes sure that the wine matches the food and that everything runs smoothly. We had our 2012 Chapitre in this restaurant and were pleased to experience that in 2018 the high standards have continued.

On arrival, in view of the beautiful weather we enjoyed a glass of champagne outdoors. Accompanying canapés were beef tartare with truffle mayo, chorizo with chorizo dip and waffle with lumpfish roe.

However we adjourned indoors for dinner where we were served a wonderful menu.

After the dinner, to applause from us all, Bailli Délégué Jørgen Krenk highly praised the host couple. He then awarded each member of staff our exclusive Bailliage of Denmark pin for their first-class service.

As we left the restaurant, event sponsor Ken Storkøkken gave us a nice gift which naturally was very much appreciated.
