OMGD China Dinner

Bailliage of China
Shanghai, June 23, 2018

Fine wines, same grapes, different countries
" The sterling effort by Vice-Échanson Xavier Pignel-Dupont to provide tasting notes and information about the make-up of each wine was outstanding "

An OMGD event was held in Shanghai at the “The Twins”. This, the first concept restaurant of Zwilling in its worldwide flagship store, has a high sense of quality being very well thought-out and unique.

‘Fine wines, same grapes, different countries’ was the theme. Thirty-six members and their guests tasted and compared Grands Crus from Bordeaux and fine wines with different grapes around the world. Chef Felix was meticulous about the marriage of food and wine providing the best wine and culinary experience.

During the cocktail reception, canapes included a good mix of seafood and meat. Paired with Veuve du Vernay sparkling wine, it gave a high expectation of what was to come.

The sterling effort by Vice-Échanson Xavier Pignel-Dupont to provide tasting notes and information about the make-up of each wine was outstanding. Everyone understood the official information about the wines including colour, aroma and taste. Through tasting first-hand and pairing with specific dishes we put the theory into practice. Enjoying the unique experience, we made individual appreciative judgements.

This was an unforgettable evening. Together with exploring pairings between fine wine and the cuisine, comparing wines of similar grape varieties but from different countries was fun. It was truly a unique experience and enjoyable challenge for all lovers of gastronomy.
