Our first dinner replicated a Head of State banquet
" a fantastic start for the Bailliage of Qingdao "

The Bailliage’s inaugural dinner was held in the ballroom of the InterContinental Qingdao. A beautifully warm autumn evening set the scene for a first-class event attended by 22 members and distinguished guests. The gentle fragrance of lilies with live Chinese folk music created a beautiful atmosphere for this occasion.

Recently, the InterContinental Qingdao successfully organised and delivered the reception and state banquet for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit attended by eight Heads of State. Our dinner was an exact replica with the same standards including chairs, operating equipment and uniforms used for the actual event.

The beautifully-balanced menu was prepared by Executive Chef Mark Tang who had been officially appointed as the SCO State Banquet Master Chef. He introduced the delightful menu explaining in detail course by course with the highlight being the braised beef rib. Each course was perfectly paired with a variety of quality wines provided by EMW Wine Company.

The evening began with glasses of Duval-Leroy Brut Champagne. Canapés served at the reception were: vegetable jelly (asparagus, beetroot, bell pepper, olives), smoked salmon with mango salsa, French goose liver mousse with cranberry sauce.
