India Dinner

Bailliage of India
Bengaluru, August 31, 2018

An Italian affair to remember
" Every course was explained in detail by the chefs who visited each table "

The Bailliage hosted another evening of fine dining. This time it was a specially-coordinated Italian theme at Ottimo, the Italian restaurant in the premier property, ITC Gardenia.

Ottimo, which translates as “Excellent”, is a signature pan-Italian dining experience that celebrates quintessential Italian dishes. It is a unique offering of modern and contemporary Italian cuisine while ensuring the traditional elements are not compromised.

Ottimo’s impressive wine and grappa library combines with the heart-warming aromas drifting from the oven at the centre of the Show Kitchen. The restaurant is a completely successful endeavour to bring a slice of Italy to the beautiful Garden City of Bengaluru.

Maître Hôtelier Amaan Kidwai, Executive Chef Uchit Vohra, Chef Sasha Fernandes and their talented teams prepared an evening to remember.

It was definitely a memorable repast. From the champagne reception in the stunning Lotus Pavilion, where a vast array of antipasti beguiled the senses, to the five-course sit-down dinner itself paired with the fine wines and champagne from the Pernod Ricard portfolio.

Once at table, the 30 members and their guests were greeted with individually-blown sugar balloons. There followed a visually delightful and finely crafted multi-course dinner.

Courses were playfully named … for example, “Hearts overflowing” (mozzarella stuffed purple gnocchi in smoked sage butter) and “Twin souls” (double stuffed ravioli with lobster and chilli).

Every course was explained in detail by the chefs who visited each table.

At the end of the wonderful feast, both service and kitchen teams received a well-deserved standing ovation.

Truly a “bella cena”* that the members would not forget!
