Bailliage of Brunei
Bandar Seri Begawan, November 2, 2018

Unforgettable fine French cuisine

The Bailliage held an Induction Ceremony in the delightful surroundings of the residence of the French Ambassador, His Excellency Christian Ramage, who is a Chevalier d’Honneur.

This was followed by a truly exceptional dinner prepared by the distinguished visiting French chef, Arnaud Tabarec*.

The art of fine French cuisine in Brunei is a rarity. The event was therefore a fantastic opportunity for members and their guests to participate in a remarkable, unforgettable gastronomic experience of the highest standards.

Chef Tabarec charmed everyone with his ingenuity, his skills and his exciting description of every course. Each was perfection but perhaps his cappuccino ‘champignon-arabica’, for sheer novelty and combination of tastes, deserves a special mention. And all this was complemented by the Ambassador’s finest French cheeses.

Bailli Délégué Andrew Caie said afterwards: “This was an unprecedentedly successful event, brought about by teamwork together with the inspiration and generous hospitality of both the Ambassador and his wife, Brigitte. This was an excellent collaboration which we shall hopefully repeat.”
