Two days dedicated to celebrating 50 years of the Bailliage of Tampere

With its 380 members, Tampere is Finland’s second largest local Bailliage. To celebrate its 50 years of existence, a special anniversary party weekend was conceived with an “October Chevolution” theme.

As special guests the Bailliage was delighted to have international friends present, namely Bailli Délégué Carl Wachtmeister from Sweden who is a Member of the Conseil d’Administration, and Bailli Délégué Ivan Novak from Hungary who is a Member of the Conseil Magistral.

On the Friday night there was an intimate VIP dinner at Restaurant C with a menu prepared by the acknowledged “best chef in town”, Maître Rôtisseur Ilkka Isotalo.

After dinner Cuban cigars with digestives were enjoyed in the Cigar Club Room at the Tampere Gourmetclub where Bailli Mikko Reinikka is Club President.

On Saturday, members and their guests lunched at Restaurant Dabbal in the city’s Lappland Hotel. The menu was created and prepared by Maître Rôtisseur Janne Kostamo. At the end of service Bailli Délégué Johanna Hornborg-Ojala and Bailli Reinikka presented the highly-respected Chaîne Professionals plaque to the restaurant.

Saturday evening saw the Gala Dinner held in Tampere Hall. Maître Rôtisseur Juhana Paturi designed a menu which was reminiscent of the prevailing style in 1968. Stand-up humourist, the rebellious, self-acclaimed Michelin 4-star “Chef Kerava” provided the entertainment.

During the evening, Bailli Reinikka presented ten members still active since the Bailliage’s foundation with an exclusive “Golden Anniversary” medal. Concluding the festivities, the “Night at the Movies” orchestra played evergreen classics from movies during the past 50 years.
