Bailliage members and their guests joined other participants at Monte Rei Golf Resort for a spectacular gastronomic experience.

Ten international Michelin-starred, celebrity Chefs, who together hold 14 Michelin stars, were invited to participate in a series of events over four days to showcase their skills.

The culmination of the programme was an evening of show cooking held on July 17th in the spacious gardens surrounding Monte Rei’s clubhouse overlooking the Jack Nicklaus designed golf course.

It was a unique, inspiring experience wandering from table to table seeing first-hand how professional chefs prepare their dishes. It is seldom possible to watch Michelin starred, celebrity chefs working at such close quarters. Being able to discuss their methods with them then enjoy tasting and eating their creations made the event unforgettable.

To mention some of the wonderful dishes prepared during the event – stars amongst stars! Resident Chef at the resort’s Vistas restaurant, Rui Silvestre’s oysters with tuna fish, langoustines and caviar and his aged entrecote truly delighted us. Thomas Bühner’s (3 Michelin stars) dish of potato foam with curry ice cream certainly caught everyone’s attention.

The evening ended by releasing balloons into the Algarve night under the stars.
